Indigenous culture interpretation through art
The indigenous cultural aspects that revolve around art are divided into groups that help interpret the artists background surrounding; tribal groups, ancestors, community and faith.
Faith: The faith aspect is very involved in indigenous art because it is the starting block of ideas, symbols and colors used in the creation process of their artworks. The indigenous base their artworks around their traditional dreaming stories which make up their faith and beliefs.
Tribal groups: Indigenous tribal groups play a big role when interpreting culture through art because it indicates the artists traditional language, country and sometimes totems.
Ancestors: Ancestors are incorporated in indigenous art because it connects back to faith and dreaming stories as well as their cultural identity in relation to certain symbols and colors passed down for generations in family groups representing the artists past ancestors.
